Born from the desire to bring good design and sophistication to every day accoutrements, Stella & Maude seeks to find the whimsy and wonderment in the handmade. They celebrate slowing down, enjoying the process and surrounding one’s self with all things exceptional.
M.N.DAVIS & SON
In 2007, Mariko started her own side project as an outlet for her passion to express “real creativity.” Originally she started this side project with her best friend living in Japan, and they named their project “CALICO.”
With both of them being very busy with their full-time jobs and not being able to have enough commitment due to living far away from each other, the collaboration did not work. Mariko, however, still wanted to do something… something fun, something she liked spending time with, something that she loves, something that she wanted to share with others.
On Chistmas of 2007, Mariko’s parents in law stuffed her stocking full of unique presents, including some “vintage feedsacks,” which they found from Mariko’s favorite Antique store in CT. That introduction to the old feedsacks became a huge influence on her side project. This was how her first feedsack tote was made…….and in turn M.N.DAVIS & SON

They are husband and wife with a boy called Søren and a boy called Silas. They live and work in Philadelphia, Penna. Peg And Owl work from olde things, treasures found and recovered from misfortune and neglect, relics of the unusual, cut and pulled and built into wearable curiosities, inscribable keepsakes and useable, longlasting treasures.
